Dual-frequency operation of a vertical external cavity semiconductor laser for coherent population trapping cesium atomic clocks

Abstract

We describe the two-polarization two-frequency emission at 852nm of an optically pumped vertical external-cavity semiconductor laser dedicated to the coherent population trapping of cesium atoms. Up to 16mW on each beam is demonstrated.
