High power single-crystal fiber CW 946 nm laser and blue generation based on Rubidium-doped PPKTP (orale)

Abstract : We present a CW and polarized 946 nm laser based on Nd:YAG single-crystal fiber. The output power at 946 nm reaches 11.5 W with a 60W diode ; the beam quality was measured below 1.7 and the ouput power was stable for hours. This high power source was then used to study the frequency doubling properties of periodically poled, rubidium-doped KTP (PPRKTP) in a continuous, extracavity configuration. We show that while we can obtain up to 800 mW of blue power, residual absorption hinders the obtainable stable power
