Scattering by deep inhomogeneous gratings

Résumé

We introduce a volume integral formulation that describes the scattering of both TE and TM electromagnetic waves by deep inhomogeneous gratings. The method is compared with an analytical solution that permits a quantitative study of the influence of the grid cell size on the computed results. This integral approach converges for gratings of any thickness.
